  • Written Analysis of Financial Reports – ratios etc
    • PEG to be run by Brian Keen and David Spears
  • Attending National Convention – members encouraged to consider

  • Press releases
    • John Nisted and Helen Bambery to conduct round table
  • PEGS – members to give the talk for PEGs
  • Seminars to be big outside speaker
  • Use 5-10 min spots to tell members about your business or whatever you want
  • Encourage members to give more notice for round tables – establish a regular time for round tables to occur – twice month following breakfast meeting – eg 1st and 3rd Friday at 9am.
  • Diarise on calendar on website – this will occur over next few weeks as Larry updates newsletter and website>
  • Make 1st PEG of each month a follow-up session from seminar held the week before.
  • Seminar – must be professional speaker – someone big and promoted.

Thank you to Helen Bambery for taking notes.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE for 15th December 2008

Hello Fellow Swappers & Friends

Thank you to all the members who provided valuable feedback as the PEG meeting last Friday, this information will be invaluable as the committee prepares for a bumper 2009 Business Swap calendar. The meeting was well attended with 16 Business Swap members. Peter Timothy provided inspiration with his thought of the day, judged by Loretta Rigby to be the most profound.

Joanne Marinic was our 10 Minute Spotter, giving us an insight to her business background and asking for assistance with ideas for the partial or total lease/sale of their commercial premises in West High Street comprising approximately 800sqm. As always, fellow members were keen to participate in the discussion and provided Joanne with some great ideas and potential leads.

Two round tables have been scheduled for December, the first held by Tony Foote on Friday 12th on technology advances – 4 members attended this session and received valuable information from Tony – even more impressive given it was his birthday!!! – Happy Birthday Tony.

John Nisted and Helen Bambery are holding a round table this Friday, the 19th December to discuss preparing and submitting press releases. All members are invited to attend this round table at The Professional Centre on Friday 19th December at 9:00am.

This Friday is our last meeting for 2008 and will be a mixture of learning with fun. Glenda Frances and Les Boulle will facilitate the PEG and with their combined expertise, I’m certain the meeting will be full of fun and value. For your introductions this week, can you all tell us one activity you love doing away from your workplace – what is your hobby, your sport, your favourite past-time?

I look forward to seeing you all on Friday!

Linda Ward – President, Coffs Harbour Business Swap

Please Note: John Nisted and Helen Bambery have rescheduled their round table on Press Releases to occur early in 2009

The interest in Tony’s 10 minute spot on wireless broadband  was so great that he will be conducting a round table for members at The Professional Centre on Friday 12th December at 9:00am.
